HMO PGY2+

RMH streams

The Royal Melbourne Hospital employs Hospital Medical Officers who rotate through four 13-week speciality rotations which are streamed into Specialist Medical, Specialist Surgical or combine these to undertake a mixed roster year.

With a major focus on education and training, with weekly HMO specific training sessions, and a supportive Education team including a Medical Education Officer and Director of Clinical Training, The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a great option for HMO's wishing to commence Basic Training and for HMO's undecided in their career aspirations.

All junior doctors interested in securing Medical, Surgical, Mixed & Royal Women's mixed positions need to apply through the PMCV (computer matching site). The only exceptions to this are HMO3+ surgical positions and HMO3+ Critical Care positions.

Joint RMH/RWH positions

RMH is able to offer four joint RMH/RWH positions. To apply for these positions it is important to register with the PMCV then apply to The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
